Retirement Communities AZ – A Place in the Sun

A Place in the Sun -  Arizona Retirement Communities

After a lifetime of hard work and responsibility the idea of retiring to a beautiful place in the sun is one that appeals to many people. Years ago people flocked to Florida to do just that but these days retirees are heading further west – to Arizona – and one of the many AZ retirement communities that have sprung up over the last several years.

If the words retirement community make you think about lines of blue haired old ladies knitting in the sun or old men playing bocce you have never seen or heard anything about the Arizona active retirement communities. These are places buzzing with activity and amenities designed to suit the lifestyle of today’s active seniors.

Arizona is a state with a diverse history, landscape and geography, beauty abounds at every turn, but for decades the area was barely settled at all. Between 1990 and now however all that has changed. The population of the Phoenix metropolitan area increased by 45.3% from 1991 through 2001, helping to make Arizona the second fastest growing state in the nation in the 1990s and many of these new residents are older people, attracted to all that the state has to offer.

AZ Retirement Communities put you more in mind of a luxury resort in the sun than a senior’s community. All of the great Arizona retirement communities feature beautiful and sprawling golf courses, state of the art fitness centers, sparkling swimming pools and acres of lush gardens to explore.

Homes in these retirement communities in Arizona come in all shapes, sizes and price ranges. There really is a property to suit the needs of anyone thinking about retiring to the area to enjoy all that this wonderful area of the country has to offer.

Popular retirement communities in Arizona include Sun City, Sun City West, Sun City Festival, Sun City Grand, Trilogy, Ventana Lakes, Arizona Traditions, Corte Bella, Pebble Creek and Westbrook Village. You can discover more about each of these Arizona Retirement communities by clicking on the links at the top of the page.
